WARM WHITE WEDNESDAY

I decided to stretch White Wednesday hosted by Kathleen over at Faded Charm this week and show you some of the warmer whites I have begun to add to my house with Fall approaching. This is a picture of my Mother's china that she purchased on one of her trips to England with my Dad. She never used this set as she was "saving it". After she passed and I received this Buttercup pattern by Spode from her. I have it displayed in my kitchen so I can appreciate and use it daily.

This is one of my most favorite photos. It is my Dad and my three children. There just something about it that makes my heart zing every time I look at it...

This is the fireplace in our living room. The crucifix on the far left is from an old church alter in Quebec , Canada. I was so afraid it would get broken in my suitcase on the way home that I decided to have it be my "carry on"..boy what a mistake! I had security all over me...not because it was from the church, but because it was a weapon!! Jesus as a weapon...hmmm. At any rate they decided that it was okay to carry it on as long as I left it in the bag...Whew!

This is another set of my Mom's china that she purchased when my Dad was in WWII. She worked at a local mercantile and every pay check she would purchase another piece of the china. I am so proud that I was gifted this beautiful set..complete serving for twelve!

Have a great White Wednesday and thank you for visiting my site and all of your wonderful posts and emails, they do mean a lot..thank you

Your china sets are so beautiful and how special that they were your Mother's. The picture of your Father and your children is so sweet. The young boy in front of your Father looks a lot like him. Have a nice week. Sandi

Beautiful dishes, and how great that you use them on a daily basis. Love the crucifix(s). They are wonderful. Yes, unfortunately I've met people who DO try to use Him as a weapon. so not Him.
Your daughter has a great blog, and I was glad to meet her!

I think it is so funny how our mothers were saving their dishes. Saving for what, until the children are all gone, until they get a new house, until what? My mother did the same thing. So cool that you use them. They are too beautiful not to be used. Your mother had such wonderful taste in china. I'll bet she set a lovely table.
I love your home.
Hugs,
June
