Countdown to Fall!

Hi Friends we are fast approaching Matilda’s next show.  It is this coming week end, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 to 5 daily at the barn on the wonderful Betty Crocker Estate in Valley Center!

There are so many new things in the barn this month!  We have many harvest tables, hutches of all types, buffets, sideboards,  vintage taxidermy, unique curiosities, industrial oddities, garden..and so much more!

Plan on coming out this week end to get you Fall inspiration…I know you’ll come out with a few amazing treasures!

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

Hi all I know I have been forever in writing on my blog…just not enough hours in the day sometimes!!

You are invited to come to our annual Flea Market, “Dog Days of Summer” this Friday, Saturday ,and Sunday from 9 to 5 daily!

 

Matilda’s Mouse is a 3 day shopping event always held Friday – Sunday of each month. 

Three days to shop the hottest trends in antique and vintage decor. Our talented group of dealer designers have gathered fabulous finds from around the country

While it may be warm outside- we also have the spacious 3000 sq. ft barn loaded with merchandise and treasures..a true paradise of vintage and antique finds!.

The gates for the flea market open for this show a 9 a.m. daily and 10 a.m. for the barn

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL!!

Thank you to all our wonderful customers who came out to Matilda’s Mouse today for our “Sea to Shining sea” event and sale!!  It never ceases to amaze me how many wonderful customers and friends we have the pleasure of getting to know over the past 13 years!..THANK YOU!!

SEA TO SHINING SEA

Our tribute to America,the beach and all things summer starts tomorrow at Matilda’s Mouse and goes through Sunday…10-5 daily.  Hope to see you there!  There are treasures galore for your summer and entertaining décor!

LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN!!

Please join us at Matilda’s Mouse Antiques June 21, 22,23 as we celebrate  the birthday  of AMERICA!!

It is such a wonderful show with an abundance of  vintage treasures from Paris to America in honor of Lady Liberty. 

 

***DID YOU KNOW….***

*The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States as a token of friendship.  It was designed and created  by Frederic Auguste  Barthodi June 17 1885.

*The head and torch of Statue of Liberty was  on display at the Paris World’s Fair. 

*Once the Statue was completed is was disassembled into 214 crates and shipped to the United States on June 17 1885.

*There was a problem in the states…the funding for the  base was dismissed by the  US government twice under Pres. Cleveland

*SO,  Joseph Pulitzer of the “WORLD” newspaper decided he would help raise the monies needed for the base of the Statue  of Liberty.  He helped raised $102,000. That being 120,000 contributors , most of which were under $1.00….School children donated pennies and there was no money what so ever donated by our government!

*The Statue of Liberty was finally dedicated Oct 28, 1886.

*The Statue of Liberty has been closed since Hurricane Sandy and will reopen this July 4th.

***Just interesting tid-bits… History class is now dismissed (grin)…***

Hi friends!

Join us this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10- 5 daily in the 1880's barn for MATILDA'S MOUSE ANTIQUES "Through the Garden Gate" show and sale.  There are amazing garden elements, lots of beautiful plants, architectural pieces, fabulous bird cages, primitive cupboards, French cupboards, hutches, desks, patio sets, and so much more!!  Gates to the estate open at 9:45 daily so you can shop the grounds before the barn doors open.

Hi friends!  Matilda’s Mouse  Antiques next event is quickly approaching!  It will be our “Through The Garden Gate”  show and sale.  The dates are May 17, 18, 19 from 10:00 to 5:00 daily…Hope to see you for this very popular event!

For about the fifth month in a row I have found yet another fantastic vintage bird cage.  They have become so prevalent in many of today’s decorating styles…so here’s a little peek……

Wowserzs, huh? Anyway, I’m having fun playing with it for the next Matilda’s show…see you there!!
