I'M SO HONORED

It never ceases to amaze me how life's template is so perfectly orchestrated. I was feeling blue these past few days, and then I am given an award... Honest Scrap Award from Rebecca of http://rebeccaforvintageliving.blogspot.com/. I am so new at this blogging art that it was completely unexpected, but I accept this award with great honor! The complete blogging experience is so much more that I could have ever expected it to be. I have met some of the most gifted and amazingly wonderful people through blogging. I have actually even had the pleasure of personally meeting a number of my blogging friends! Now for the difficult part for me...I have to tell you 10 things you may not know about me and I so hate to talk about me so this really is hard...but here goes:

1. My nickname from my Dad when I was little was Pumpkin.

2. My nickname from my uncle (yes the one that just passed) was PT. I used to always always wear a ponytail.

3. I was a cheerleader and the editor of our high school yearbook

4. My nickname from my brother's friends and classmates was Little Bud (my Dad's name was Bud and he was the superintendent of all the schools in the area(5)

5. I was raised in a loving Christian home by my Mom and Dad, along with two brothers.

6. I am as passionate about my genealogy as my decorating and antiquing...I have a data base of over 15,000 people I deal with......ha ha

7. I am blessed with good health and thick thighs

8. I don't laugh at myself enough

9. I love watching old old movies

10. I am scared of heights

Man that wasn't fun...BUT now for the fun part!! I get to nominate 7, yes seven people that I believe deserve this award! There have been so many many kind and gracious people that have encouraged me on my blog..sometimes when I wasn't sure what I was doing and if it was worth my time...silly me! SOOOO these are my top choices for this award:

WHITE LIGHT WEDNESDAY

Hello everyone. Today is a sad day for me so I will no be posting pictures for WW. My dear uncle passed away from Alzheimer's. While it was not sudden, this past week he went down quite quickly. I do thank the Lord for this as he didn't suffer and his family can now feel a sense of relief, knowing that his pain is gone and he is with the Lord. My mother (his sister) and his brother also had Alzheimer's, so for many in the family it brings back a flood of memories. Cry not for me...I am fine, I have great faith.
I'll be back next WW and as the week passes I will try to go to each of your sites and comment. It is such a wonderful thing this WW.

When the doors opened this morning for our Harvest Moon show there were so many new faces. That is always a wonderful greeting for all of us as it is confirmation that the word about Matildas Mouse continues to spread! Here is the entrance to my space. Enjoy and I hope you have a wonderful week end! (Okay this formatting is driving me crazy tonight and I am sorry but I'm way too tired tonight to mess with it, so hope you can deal with it, sorry)

Okay is this not the cutest picture of Matilda ever! She is our Harvest Moon corn dog! So fun! Matilda has corn husks glues (special doggy glue) all over her and is sitting in a laundry cart of corn and straw!

Sandra's art of display is so creative!

Another Great vignette by Marla and Keith!

This amazing piece was Marla's, It sold the minute the doors opened!

CAN YOU SAY TEASE PLEASE

Here are some pictures for the next Matildas show, HARVEST MOON. I love to mix wood and warmer whites together. Here is that darling iron chair I found a few weeks ago. The two French chairs I had to redo the seats, but they're very old and so dainty (I once had a man, a very large man 6'7" and 300 lbs try and sit in these chairs...what was he thinkin!) The bottom picture is of this jardiniere I once owned...that is until this puppy I am watching decided to take it down... I didn't have the heart to throw it away so walla the bottom became a nest/crown/flower holder! I love it and if it doesn't sell, I'm pretty sure I know where it will go ....ha ha

YOU "WHITE" UP MY LIFE

In the past few days our weather has cooled down quite a bit and the days are noticeably getting shorter. Fall is most certainly in the air. Once again as the cooler weather comes lighting seems to be a focal point in my decorating. I have a love affair with chandeliers. I seem to be attracted to the crystals and the wonderful diffracting of the light they give to a room. So, today I thought I would show you some of the lighting I have around my home. I hope today is a good day for you...and yes today is Wednesday...I think I am finally back on track of knowing my days (see yesterday's silly post). Things have been quite crazy with moving hubby's office and our Matilda's show this Friday. Tomorrow I will be showing some pictures of a shopping trip we made and following up with some preview pic of the upcoming Matildas show. Be sure and check out the other wonderful bloggers that are participating in WW at Kathleen's blog at http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/ have a great Wednesday!

WARM WHITE WEDNESDAY

I decided to stretch White Wednesday hosted by Kathleen over at Faded Charm this week and show you some of the warmer whites I have begun to add to my house with Fall approaching. This is a picture of my Mother's china that she purchased on one of her trips to England with my Dad. She never used this set as she was "saving it". After she passed and I received this Buttercup pattern by Spode from her. I have it displayed in my kitchen so I can appreciate and use it daily.

This is one of my most favorite photos. It is my Dad and my three children. There just something about it that makes my heart zing every time I look at it...

This is the fireplace in our living room. The crucifix on the far left is from an old church alter in Quebec , Canada. I was so afraid it would get broken in my suitcase on the way home that I decided to have it be my "carry on"..boy what a mistake! I had security all over me...not because it was from the church, but because it was a weapon!! Jesus as a weapon...hmmm. At any rate they decided that it was okay to carry it on as long as I left it in the bag...Whew!

This is another set of my Mom's china that she purchased when my Dad was in WWII. She worked at a local mercantile and every pay check she would purchase another piece of the china. I am so proud that I was gifted this beautiful set..complete serving for twelve!

Have a great White Wednesday and thank you for visiting my site and all of your wonderful posts and emails, they do mean a lot..thank you

ARCHITECTURALLY SPEAKING.....

Since my last show at Matildas I feel I have been somewhat creatively challenged. While I absolutely love doing the shows, sometimes it just seems to take a lot out of me both physically and mentally. I am in the process of helping my husband move his offices to another location and in this heat...whew! After viewing so many wonderful blogs on WW I feel I am getting some of my juices going again. Kathleen at Faded Charm Cottage the host for White Wednesday, did a post on architectural elements in the home...bingo! That made me so happy. I realized, because I think we all get "house blind" that I had some of these very elements that make me inspired...so, here's to all you gals who helped me get over my slump...thank you!! I want to also say a very heartfelt thank you to Debi over a Talking Trash.
She did such a beautiful post last week and told viewers to visit my blog. (I had over 600 bloggers last week alone!) I so appreciate this women...she is a true supporter of her fellow bloggers and I consider a dear friend!
